Alliance Care Technologies and Australian-Based Eyetellegence Announce Strategic Partnership (22 March 2023)
Alliance Care Technologies and Eyetelligence are pleased to announce a strategic partnership designed to bring groundbreaking Eyetelligence clinical decision-support software to the MENA region.
With this announcement marking World Glaucoma Day, Ophthalmologists and Optometrists in the MENA region will now have access to Eyetelligence decision-support software, a user
friendly, fast and accurate artificial intelligence (AI) platform that detects not only Glaucoma, but three of the most common eye diseases: diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration - as well as a CVD risk assessment - in a matter of seconds.
In honor of World Glaucoma Day, Alliance Care Technologies is offering clinics, hospitals and
vision centers the opportunity for an initial trial of Eyetelligence.
According to Michele Tarnow, CEO Alliance Care Technologies, “We anticipate strong demand for this technology across the region. Our focus in the Gulf Region will be on providing stand-alone and hospital-based clinics with Glaucoma detection support, Referable Diabetic Retinopathy screening support with grading, and screening support for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). Eyetelligence can bring early detection to the remotest of locations using a portable camera. We are proud to offer Eyetelligence as it easily and affordably supports enabling universal access to many aspects of basic and preventive care in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal number 3 (SDG#3).”
Eyetelligence AI technology uses standard Fundus images to enhance optometrists’ ability to detect ophthalmic and systemic disease and provide more standardized, efficient, accurate and accessible care. The cloud-based software is easy to use and understand, it’s suitable for all staff members to operate, completely confidential and cost effective. Most important, it provides better patient outcomes by reducing risks of missing diagnosis and identifying cases that may require further investigation.
According to Eyetelligence CEO Rainer Grote, “The Eyetelligence AI platform was trained to
analyze retinal images for features of the three major retinal diseases using 200,000 retinal scans, labeled by a panel of sub-specialist ophthalmologists. We have partnered with world-leading research organizations to validate the software. We are extremely proud of the difference this technology is already making in existing markets and look forward to sharing it in the UAE.”
